GoDaddy Files Patent for “Domain Name Hijack Protection”

GoDaddy has filed a patent for a system to protect against domain name theft. The patent lists GoDaddy CEO Bob Parsons as the sole inventor and was filed last year, but was not published until this month.

Pay-per-click has consistently been an area that I have not done well in, and I think a lot of affiliate marketers are in the same boat. Here and there I have made some money, but for the 3 years I’ve been an affiliate, I’ve probably been lucky if I’ve broken even in PPC.

One of the biggest reasons I like it is because Bob sure appears to be "real" and not some jackass like most other CEO’s who don’t think their shit stinks. Godaddy is the largest domain name registrar and he owns the company.

Why? Maybe because that tasty payment is going right into the hands of Bob Pittman’s Pilot Group Ventures, which bought the fashion and shopping newsletter business for $3 million in 2003.

The reason is a noncompete Miller (pictured here) signed, part of a severance agreement he reached with the media giant after it unceremoniously tossed him out in late 2006.
