The early Christians were Socialist. Why aren’t we? Part2
http://faithinactiononline.com/ 2008/ 08/ 25/ the-early-christians-were-socialis…I finished reading Jesus for President a couple of weeks ago and I’m about done with The Irresistible Revolution, and these two books have me really focused on the Kingdom of God and cultivating community. The seeker in me wonders what life would be like if we really lived out what Jesus preached and what the early followers of The Way were inspired to demonstrate with their very lives.

http://faithinactiononline.com/ 2008/ 07/ 23/ jesus-for-president-the-challenge-…I’m making my way (very slowly) through this amazing book that I will probably end up utilizing for my young adult Discipleship at the church. My revolutionary, anti-Empire cousin recommended it to me and I went out and got it right away. Jesus for President is a very creative presentation that presents and urges readers to think about Jesus differently.

http://faithinactiononline.com/ 2008/ 07/ 16/ dont-sleep-on-the-greens/“Power to the People!” “Power to the People!” The crowd swayed and chanted in a thunderous roar pumping clinched fists in the air as if they were literally striking out at the oligarchical american government and its fascist functionaries that provide safe haven for racism, economic exploitation, discrimination, and ultimately an oppressive existence.

Finding Jesus on the Streets
http://faithinactiononline.com/ 2008/ 07/ 08/ finding-jesus-on-the-streets/Ok, so Mark Scandrette, author of Soul Graffiti, has a little Will Ferrell slash Vince Vaughn thing going on, but I dig his message. (no surprise there) He’s challenging us to think of Jesus differently - not as the head of an organized religion called Christianity, but as a homeless prophet who
