Just back off holiday, but haven't caught up with myself yet. I think I am divulging one of London's best kept secrets today - the conservatory garden at the Barbican. You can see the 10 meter tall bamboo ( a variegated Phyllostachys) from outside the Silk Street entrance, but you probably wouldn't realise that it was part of rambling conservatory garden with around 2,000 varieties of plants.

     Ok if you’re in the London area or making plans to go to London try and peep this AMAZING exhibition called The House of Viktor & Rolf showing at Barbican Art Gallery in London. After viewing the photos and a small video introduction of the show I was blown a-w-a-y!!!!   The show is running thru Sept 21st 2008.

The central feature of the show was a giant dollhouse with all sorts of cutesy dolls wearing mini-me versions of V&R’s off-kilter designs.

I work for the Barbican Centre in London. It is the largest multi-arts centre in Europe, featuring art, film, music, theatre, dance and education all under one roof and under one creative direction. Now, as it's an old building, and also, being named the Barbican - it was originally designed to keep everything inside, and to exist as a utopia for residents.

A few years ago, the process of reclaiming the Carry On oeuvre was launched in fine fashion. No less an institution than The Barbican Cinema in London decided to have a retrospective of the full 30 films. This was a big deal.
