    Ah! Genealogy fun

    http://generationsgoneby.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 20/ ah-genealogy-fun/

Didn’t get much done yesterday. Turns out I was sick. Who knew.  That nap refreshed me though and I am feeling much better. So I am trying to get back on schedule, just running one day late. But I did have some time to do my cemetery pages today.  I got two more pages online before the school called that my daughter was sick too.

Sometimes I was asked whether I was going to see my mother. Most people did not know that my mother was dead.

Today’s dharma reading was chapter four from Thich Nhat Hanh’s Touching Peace. Here’s a summary. Please share any thoughts. Thich Nhat Hanh relates a story about a friend who helped him organize a visit to India. He describes the friend’s discomfort and inability to relax due to the discrimination he has endured throughout his life as a member of India’s lowest social caste.

    Peasant Farmer

    http://aemcraephoto.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ peasant-farmer.html

My ancestors were farmers. Mom's family were peasant farmers from Germany, via Russia to Canada. They were settlers here on the prairie a century ago. Dad's family also has ties to farming and setting in Saskatchewan. I think its in the blood. Yesterday, day one of the May long weekend, and the temprature is 29C.

Yes, I was finally able to go to the local Family History Center in my area yesterday. I've been there a handful times before, but this was my first visit to the place this year. So, what did I do there?
