The Nearest (Well, Almost) Book
http://victimofthetime.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ nearest-well-almost-book.htmlJ.D. tagged me, and who am I to say no when he says I'm one of his best friends? Flattery will get you everywhere. 1. Pick up the nearest book. 2. Open to page 123. 3. Locate the fifth sentence. 4. Post the next three sentences on your blog and in so doing... 5. Tag five people, and acknowledge who tagged me.

Mother’s Day 2008
http://naturaldeficiency.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 10/ mothers-day-2008/In honor of Mother’s Day I will share one of my favorite stories of my mom from when I was very little. It had to be sometime in 1978 as I remember the fashions to be terrible. At that time we were living in Lowell in the tiniest of apartments. It was one of those townhouse designs but in the poor part of town.

1970s Influence on Modern Horology (Featuring Watchismo!) Internatonal Herald Tribune
http://watchismo.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ 1970s-influence-on-modern-horology.htmlFellow Brooklynite and famed watch writer and editor of Couture International Jeweler magazine Victoria Gomelsky visited Watchismo headquarters allowing me to show her some of my favorite (and obscure) 1970s watches. All for this big feature in the International Herald Tribune showcasing the influence of that special decade on some of the coolest timepieces in recent years.

Television of Tomorrow (1974)
http://www.paleofuture.com/ 2008/ 05/ television-of-tomorrow-1974.htmlBob MacKenzie wrote a relatively balanced and thoughtful piece about the future of television in the February 3, 1974 Oakland Tribune titled, "A 'Tomorrow' Look At World Of TV." Even articles about television were shaped by the energy fears of the 1970s. "It now seems possible that we won't keep getting richer," MacKenzie writes.

A pause for thought...
http://covert-tactics.blogspot.com/ 2008/ 05/ pause-for-thought.htmlIs it just us or does anyone else see the irony of Keith Axon having a 'V For Vendetta' fixation at the moment? Penny for the Guy guv? Only last year Kieth was saved from tragedy as the local kids chucked him on the bonfire until the smell of his 1970's suit burning caused their dads to extinguish the flames thus saving Keith.

QotD: my first car
http://jackyan.vox.com/ library/ post/ qotd-my-%EF%AC%81rst-car.htmlWhat was your first car? That was a 1977 Triumph Toledo 1500 (a 1500 was indeed offered in New Zealand). Meaty car: it had a lot of pulling power. But it was laboured with an unfortunate colour which British Leyland called Bitter Apricot. It was a shame to see it go because I worked on that car like crazy.

Mas Tequila
http://naturaldeficiency.wordpress.com/ 2008/ 05/ 04/ mas-tequila/I heard this tune on the radio the other day and I just can’t get it out of my head. So I downloaded it and felt the need to share this ultimate party song by my favorite (former) member of Van Halen, Sammy Hagar. I think I will be going to LP Field this July to see Mr. Hagar play with Kenny Chesney and friends.
