Sam Sparro May 15th, 2008 Oh Sam, Sam, Sam…you were lovely, but our Lydia got a little bit over excited about his raffish good looks. Shoreditch House Party / Alexa Chung ‘DJ’s’… May 15th, 2008 The whole musical world seems to have the east end of london and its’ bands shoved down its neck at the moment. Luckily, the only thing we were shoving down our necks in London’s east end the other night was mediocre canapes and Sam Sparro’s tongue (we wish…well, not really, given I’m the wrong gender…ewww).

Stag & Dagger is a great concept with some great live acts on the line-up! It’s this Thursday the 15th May 6pm - 12am. One ticket gives access to all 15 venues and all areas, bit like a street festival with no door prices, which allows 5,000 festival goers to enjoy over a 100 live acts

Back to Black As the week goes on and the heatwave recedes, and clouds prepare to darken the sky over London, you might have to pack up those plans for a barbecue and rethink the weekend ahead. But all is not lost.

The location: Bang in the middle of Hoxton/Shoreditch trendiness, in the Hoxton hotel, the brain child of the man who founded Pret. You can buy breakfast and booze from reception and if you are lucky they even do special offers on rooms for a quid. The spec: A trendy yet cosy space ran by the Grille chain.

  The Stag and Dagger one day festival happens next Thursday (15th May). It takes place across many places around Shoreditch @ venues including: 93 Feet East, Cargo, Hoxton Bar and Kitchen, Electricity Showrooms, The Old Blue Last, T-Bar and East Village.

I popped round to see my friend Anne Cunningham this morning. She was having problem with her blog and asked me for help. I wasn't much use, but it was good to see her. We shared a studio together here in Cambridge for a while and I miss our putting the world to rights conversations.

Considered to be the father of stencil street art, Blek Le Rat (aka Xavier Prou) has had a profound influence on today’s current crop of street artists. Almost all of whom arrived a whole generation after Blek started hitting the streets of Paris back in the early eighties.

eBoy, the innovative and seminal pixel art pioneers are exhibiting at Concrete Hermit tonight the 8th May. eBoy is a pixel art group founded in 1998 by Steffen Sauerteig, Svend Smital and Kai Vermehr. From their Berlin studio they create re-usable pixel objects and take them to build complex and extensible artwork.
