    http://saunderslog.com/ 2008/ 07/ 09/ squawkbox-tuesday-july-8-2008-wifi-in-cars…

Do we really want to turn our cars into rolling WiFi hotspots? Will this be a boon to the “always-on” culture or just yet another source of driver distraction? And do we really want wearable computers that involve us answering a phone by sticking a finger in our ear? On today’s Squawk Box we’ll journey a bit into new technologies coming out in the consumer space.

    http://www.semobilegames.com/ 2008/ 05/ 26/ vopium-%e2%80%93-reach-the-world-for…

Staying far away from your relatives is one difficult thing that we all have to do one day or the other. During this phase you often experience moments when you feel like talking back home for long. May be you recently had a baby and you want to share this precious moment with your parents or there are times when you are absolutely homesick and you feel like expressing.

Video conferencing on an iPhone? In what protocol?

    http://blog.radvision.com/ voipsurvivor/ 2008/ 05/ 26/ video-conferencing-on-an-…

It has been rumored that the new 3G iPhone features a front facing camera. Assuming this is true, the camera will be used for video calling. An important question is what protocol will be used for the video calls? I have written a guest post at Smith on VoIP blog regarding the difference between 3G-324M and SIP regarding mobile video telephony.

Cablevision's WiFi Network in New York City

    http://blog.tmcnet.com/ blog/ rich-tehrani/ broadband/ cablevisions-wifi-network…

WiFi is not new and providing WiFi to a city is not new. What is new and worth noodling on is the fact Cablevision will soon have a WiFi network in New York City -- well over the next few years really. The network will be voice-ready -- supporting WiFi telephony/VoWLAN and speeds could reach 1.5 Mbps.

    No Wifi? No Excuse!

    http://www.contentious.com/ 2008/ 05/ 01/ no-wifi-no-excuse/

Here’s why I’m going to get myself some “internet insurance.” I never want to deal with this situation again. And BTW, Nokia (you’re still listening, right?) this NewsTools 2008 conference I’m out is a big reason why I bought my N95 last month — remember, the one that bricked after your firmware update and that you wouldn’t replace immediately for free?

    Polycom's Durable 8002 VoIP Phone

    http://blog.tmcnet.com/ blog/ rich-tehrani/ ip-communications/ polycoms-durable-…

I have to be frank… I have never been in a meeting where I saw a product launch accompanied by a phone being slammed on a table. So I was a bit surprised when Polycom's Ben Guiderian did just that with the company's new 8002 phone.
