May I have your attention please?
Will the real Joe Paterno please stand up?
I repeat, will the real Joe Paterno please stand up?
We're gonna have a problem here...

Joe Paterno, Please stand up!

Today, Joe Paterno sent out his lawyer to speak for him on “Good Morning America.”

“Coach Paterno strongly condemns harassment or bullying of any kinds, and he asks anyone who truly cares about Penn State to conduct themselves honorably and with respect for others.”

Those are not Joe Paterno's words. Those words are lawyer-words. Where's the profanity? Where's the get-in-your-face video of Joe Paterno telling the punks at the local high school that they need to back down or they can get the F out of his town.

The issue today is the boy, known as Victim 1, in the Jerry Sandusky alleged child rape scandal at Penn State. Victim 1 has now had to leave high school because he has been intensely harassed at high school. The mother of Victim 1 has told ABC news that the students at her son's high school blame Victim 1 for the firing of Joe Paterno.

Joe Paterno was the long-term coach of Penn State. Previously, Joe Paterno had asked for prayer for the victims of abuse, but he has not spoken publicly since he was fired from Penn State.

Once upon a time, the Joe Paterno of old defended his football players with zeal, especially when referees allegedly made bad calls during a game. Once upon a time, the Joe Paterno of old got in players faces when they allegedly made bad decisions and tackled an opposing player out of bounds drawing a yellow flag. Back then, you actually knew when Joe Paterno cared about something – JoePa got personal with the man.

This is just not the Joe Paterno of old. As Eminem might say: I repeat, will the real Joe Paterno please stand up?
