Roger Goodell Gets Booed as He Kicks Off the NFL Draft
On Thursday night, Roger Goodell emerged from the shadows of shame to initiate the NFL Draft.
As soon as Goodell approached the podium, he was met with chants, "We want football! We want football!" over and over again, which ended up going on for seemed like an eternity to Goodell. Goodell kept repeatedly saying into the microphone, "I hear you. I hear you. I agree with you."
At first, he was reassuring the fans quite nicely, but as the time brutally wore on, Goodell became irritable and got restless. However, once the chants were over, the draft moved along quite smoothly.
I certainly do not blame the fans for the heckling of Goodell. They want football, the same as I, and the person that can get football to them is the commissioner.
Please Goodell, answer the fans and give us our football back. We all know you are the man to make that happen. We all know now that the owners were asking of too much money in the new CBA deal, so compromise and get a deal done.
One thing Goodell does not need to do for us, is begin the new NFL year, which is inevitably coming in the next couple of days, maybe even today. Once the new league year starts, trades and free agent signings can be made.
The fans want something to talk about and that would fit the bill. Please give us our football back.
