NFL Players Vs. Rich Old Dudes = You're Screwed
Here's why: According to a report by CNN, citing the information from Standard and Poor's, the NFL owners are really not fretting the looming lockout. You see, they will still get television revenues, even if not a single kick or snap is seen next year. If that's not enough, most teams have more than enough money to continue operating for the next two years.
Without snapping the ball. At all.
The seven day mediation between the NFL and the NFLPA was intense. The one down side? Not one NFL owner showed up. The current collective bargaining agreement ends this week. Though the NFL and the NFLPA have been talking, it seems unlikely they will have an agreement in place by the deadline.
How long a lockout would last is anyone's guess. From all estimates, if both are unable to come to some type of agreement, rather quickly, it looks as if there will be zero NFL next year.
In the world of rich athletes and even richer owners, the only people that will truly lose are the fans. It seems there is little to no consideration given to us, the fans.
If they do indeed lock out the next year, and we do end up without the NFL season, I wonder what would happen if we all decided to lock THEM out for the following year?
But, then again, do you really think they care?
