As Longhorns Football Continues to Fumble, Greg Davis Should Polish His Résumé - Page 2
Davis, in his 13th year as offensive coordinator, makes $427,075 a year.
Let’s put that in perspective. The president of the University of Texas, Bill Powers, earns $511,491. Lawrence Sager, the dean of UT’s law school, earns $374,167. It’s safe to say that UT and its law school have been more “victorious” this year than the Longhorns football squad.
Brown says he’s not going to make any personnel decisions until after the season. If the Horns keep dropping the ball—literally and figuratively—then the 2010 season likely (and mercifully) will end Thanksgiving Day, when Texas hosts Texas A&M. As early as Nov. 26, Davis should expect to be thrown out with the Thanksgiving leftovers.
As for Brown and Muschamp, yes, they share plenty of blame for one turkey of a season. But, no, they shouldn’t anticipate hunting for new jobs.
