MLB Twitter Campaign Fails
With the sporting world's eyes on Major League Baseball, the mid-summer classic aka the All-Start game is right around the corner. The league is promoting it through social media and teams are promoting their players in the same fashion.
In a post titled, "Worst MLB All-Star Game Candidate Promotions on Twitter", the Bleacher Report (top baseball blog) rips into campaigns that are tanking and probably doing the exact opposite of what they were designed to do.
My favorite failing campaign (as a Red Sox fan) is the Phantom All-Star, a dig at Derek Jeter's campaign. The guy hasn't played a single game all year due to an Achilles injury last year. However, he's still in the running. Bleacher Reports verdict on this campaign: Ridiculous.
I totally agree.
