Video: Does Tracy McGrady Still Have it?
While Allen Iverson's star continues to fade, another former scoring machine, Tracy McGrady, showed he might still have some life after scoring 26 points in his debut with the New York Knicks.
McGrady, who was traded to the Knicks at the trading deadline, was thought to be more done than Iverson — both had declined, but at least Iverson had been on the court most of the last two seasons. McGrady came into this season after missing much of last year with a serious knee injury only to find that the Rockets didn't much want him around anymore.
He played six games for them, never managing more than 8 minutes in any of those performances and shooting 36 percent from the field, so to say that scoring 26 points in 32 minutes while shooting 59 percent after not stepping onto a NBA court in nearly two months is a bit of an understatement.
It's unclear how much McGrady has left, but as long as he's in Mike D'Antoni's offense, he'll continue to score points.
