BJ Penn vs Nick Diaz

In the main event of the evening BJ Penn will take on Nick Diaz in a welterweight match-up that MMA fans all over the world cannot afford to miss. The original main event for this fight was going to be Georges St-Pierre Vs Nick Diaz, this was then replaced by GSP Vs Carlos Condit and now we have a completely new main event of B.J Penn Vs Nick Diaz. I personally think that any one of those three matches would have been great to watch but I feel we have ended up with potentially the most exciting bout out of them all.

BJ Penn's last few fights have been a mixed bag since losing the UFC lightweight title to Frankie Edgar back in April of 2010. He had a rematch against Edgar which he lost and then decided to move to the welterweight division. His first fight in this new weight-class was against UFC veteran Matt Hughes at the UFC 123 event. B.J shocked fans with a first round knockout showing that he can still bang with the best. After that victory Penn's most recent fight which was against John Fitch which in all honesty was a bad fight for both men. It lacked excitement and ended in a draw leaving B.J Penn looking for some direction in his MMA career. Thankfully for B.J and the fans a hew challenge comes in the form of Nick Diaz and we will see a true fight on Saturday for sure.

I will now move on to the former Strikeforce welterweight champion and highly controversial character Nick Diaz. I won't go into details about how Nick failed to show up at the press conference's and media events etc because quite simply we have already heard it all. To cut a long story short Nick Diaz comes out to fight. He trains hard and puts his heart into every fight, love him or hate him you have to respect what he has achieved. On Saturday Nick will enter the octagon with a 10 fight win streak and something to prove, he will want to show UFC fans and MMA fans all over the world that he deserves to get his shot back against GSP.
