LeBron James Backs Out, But The NBA Lets Shannon Dunk
"Right now, I'm preliminarily putting my name in the 2010 Dunk Contest." — LeBron James
Yeah...not so much. After staunchly saying he'd dunk at All-Star Weekend in 2010 during last year's dunk contest, then changing to "50-50" during the season, it's now official that LeBron James will not participate.
Maybe Kyle Korver gave him second thoughts. But that doesn't mean it will be a weak field. Shannon Brown's 'Let Shannon Dunk' campaign paid off, Nate Robinson will be back, Gerald Wallace is a ferocious dunker, and DeMar DeRozan will compete with Eric Gordon in the first-ever dunk-in for the final spot.
While Robinson, due to his diminutive stature, is always a crowd favorite, Brown has been the best in-game dunker this season. Look for him to be the favorite.
