Charley Hoffman Shoots 62 to Win the Deutsche Bank Championship
Charley Hoffman made eleven birdies during the final round to win the Deutsche Bank Championship. His final round 62 was good enough to catch Jason Day and Brandt Snedeker and capture his first win since 2007.
The win moves Hoffman from 59th place in the FedEx Cup standings to 2nd place, less than 1,000 points behind the leader Matt Kuchar. The impressive win may also grab the attention of United States Ryder Cup team captain Corey Pavin. Pavin will be announcing his selections to the team tomorrow.
Tiger Woods put together a solid tournament and finished at -10. He birdied 3 of the last 4 holes on Monday to finish in a tie for 11th place. Phil Mickelson was in contention heading into the final round but struggled shooting 5 over and ended his weekend in a tie for 25th.
Adam Scott continues his solid play. His -16 put him in a tie for 5th place as he continues his quest to win the FedEx Cup. Steve Stricker remains in 3rd place in the FedEx Cup standings by finishing in 9th place with -13. Finally, Matt Kuchar shot -10 and finished tied for 11th to hold on the lead in the FedEx Cup standings. The top 70 players will tee off at the BMW Championship next week at Cog Hill in Lemont, IL.
