YouTube Project: Report 2010 Deadline This Sunday
So you want to be a journalist? Well, if you haven't heard, YouTube is willing to listen to your pitch.
They've created a journalism contest with the Pulitzer Center to allow aspiring, non-professional journalists to submit stories that might otherwise never see the light of day.
At the end of Round 1, a panel will select 10 finalists, each of which will receive a Sony VAIO notebook and Sony HD video camera, then advance to the medal round (dig my crazy Olympic reference) and compete for one of five $10,000 travel fellowships to work with the Pulitzer Center on an international reporting project.
The only catch? Round 1 submissions must be in by Sunday, February 28, 2010. But if that trips you up, you're trying out for the wrong gig - editors and deadlines can be real bitches.
Hit the Project: Report 2010 site for all the details.
