Twitter’s Innovation Continues with the Launch of Promoted Accounts
Turning true the hearsay, Twitter has successfully introduced its latest innovative advertising option, to which it has given the name "Promoted Accounts."
If you are a Twitter fan, you can avail this new advantageous idea of Promoted Accounts, which will show up in the “Who to follow” section of a Twitter home page. What makes this innovation impressive is that it is fully algorithmic which decides when and which promoted accounts should be displayed. As has been announced by the company, the promoted accounts that should be suggested depends on your choice as to which advertising source and whom you have been following.
Want to know how it functions? It’s quite easy to understand. When a particular account is being promoted by an advertiser, Twitter’s algorithm makes a search to find who all the followers of that account are. In case you follow some of those accounts, but not the one that the advertiser is promoting, then Twitter will recommend you that particular account.
Through the last week’s reports, it was announced that all business and individual advertisers will get access to the promoted accounts, but according to the latest confirmed news, only “a handful of companies” are involved in the program at this point of time.
Also in news related to this, Twitter talks about its other two ad products — Promoted Tweets and Promoted Trends — and says that these features, too, are available “to a few chosen partners ” HootSuite being the first for Promoted Tweets and Promoted Trends, while others are following. Twitter is likely to roll-out these features soon on a large scale and would make them available to all interested advertisers as well in the coming days.
