So You're Thinking About Hiring a Personal Trainer... - Page 2
3. A personality that works well with yours. We all get along better with some personality types than others. If you clash with your trainer then you aren't going to enjoy your sessions together and he or she probably isn't going to be able to effectively motivate you.
4. A good communicator. You want someone who is able to work with you. That means that your trainer should not only be able to clearly communicate their thoughts to you, but should be willing and able to listen to what you have to say. Successful training is a continuing dialogue between trainer and client. If that's not happening, you're in for a very long and frustrating experience.
The expertise, insight and guidance of the right trainer will help you reach your goals, so it is well worth your time to do some research, and get as much information as you can before you hire someone. Once you find the right person, working with a personal trainer can be a very rewarding experience.
