BlogShort 30 Word Blogging Challenge
I recently found myself mired in a writing slump, and hadn’t posted to my blog in what seemed like forever. I needed a jumpstart to get writing again. So I did what any of us would do; I did a Google search for a blogging challenge. A blogging challenge you might ask? Yes, a blogging challenge. This can be just what you need to get started writing again.
The benefits are many. One thing to consider when blogging is that the summer months will bring a falling off of traffic to your blog. People are heading down to the shore, attending family gatherings; and doing any number of other outdoor activities. So a blogging challenge can boost traffic.
Another benefit is networking. You’ll have the opportunity to meet and network with other bloggers; thus building a larger blog community. A larger community usually translates to a larger readership. And let’s face it, readership is what it’s all about when all is said and done.
The blogging challenge is a way to get the creative juices flowing and offers a chance to show your best stuff. Get your writing out there, because you never know who might be reading it. You might find yourself being asked to do a guest post on a blog that gets tons of traffic. Exposure never hurt anyone when writing for an audience.
In my search I found a most interesting, and unique challenge. BlogShorts 30 short stories, 30 words, 30 days hosted by Blogdramedy A short story of only 30 words? Now that’s a challenge!
So I signed on and got started. It’s given me the opportunity to present images, create scenes in short bursts. I’m creating these in a nonlinear style which will allow me to bring them all together at the end of the challenge in one logical story. To get an idea of what I’m doing visit Just Write Of Left
BlogShorts started June 1st, so there’s still time to signup, and take the challenge.
