Hello there I am new and I want to thank you you for any help. I just purchased a 98 ford taurus se with 103,000 miles. Well t make a long story short on the ride home the speedometer went out which in turn odometer as well.

Here is the update: car still running, but still rough at idle. Did a pressure check today, and got from between 100-150 psi for cylinders 3,4,5,6. 1 and 2 (the cylinders with the misfire codes) only come up to 60. Bad news. I did the oil check where you add a few drops of oil to the spark plug holes, and the pressure rose to 75.

I did a head gasket job, and everything seems to run well at acceleration and cruising, but struggles at idle. I have two cylinder misfire codes for cylinders 1 and 2. I was afraid I had an issue related to either the block or the heads (heads were pressure checked and machined).

Hello, I recently put a transmission into a 95 3.0 Taurus and have a question. The car is stuck in code mode at all times. It flashes codes and idles high just like when I jump the pins on the test plugs. Any ideas?? Thanks....:beerbottl

I just spent the weekend replacing the head gaskets on my 99 Taurus (3.0L OHV) and at the moment of truth, she fired back up. I replaced the gaskets, the water pump, the spark plugs and the thermostat. I'm now getting three codes, P0300, P0301, and P0302. The latter two are cylinder misfire codes for cylinders 1 and 2.

I have a 2003 Taurus 3.0L flex fuel Vin code 2 with 84,000 miles, I had two problems the first was error code P0705 which was the Transmission Range Sensor which was causing the car to intermittently down shift from OD to D while driving at highway speeds this of course caused the rpm's to spike,

For the past week my engine light has been on along with a rough idle. This evening I was stopped at a traffic signal for quite some time when the car started acting like it was going to stall, then the engine light began to flash. This happened before in another Taurus I had.

Hello all, Hopefully you guys can help me out, I have a problem with the AC and Heat, not blowing out of the normal upper vents in the dash. Whenever, I place the switch to blow out of the top vents, it blows out of the defroster. I move it to blend, upper and lower vents, its still blowing out of the defrosters, and the floor.

How would I go about replacing an intake manifold on a 2002 taurus 24V DOHC

OK, next issue: My driver door power lock button will un-lock the doors, but not lock them. Passenger side, and key fobs work fine. Since the driver door button will unlock, but not lock, I figured the switch was faulty. I ordered a new switch, installed it, but it did not fix the problem.
