In reading recent posts by Reihan Salam and John Schwenkler I was re-struck by how strongly our personal narrative plays a defining role in our view and articulation of politics. Insofar as politics can be defined as they ways in which we choose to organize ourselves, the lived experiences that we bring to the table will, in large part, determine the courses of action that we find suitable, those that we find exciting, and those that we choose to dismiss.
