You love your dog. We all love our dogs. But I don’t necessarily love your dog. And that’s the problem pet owners face when trying to sell their homes. Buyers don’t love your dog or cat. In fact, they may think your pet stinks. And that could scuttle any chance you have of selling them your home. Most real estate agents tell me they’d prefer if pet owners boarded their pets or shipped them to relatives during the home-selling process. Now, considering that it can take months to move a home, that’s not necessarily feasible. The next best thing? Make sure your pet is nowhere to be found when showings of your home are scheduled.
