Canadian Carrier Rogers Getting BlackBerry Bold June 25, Way Ahead of AT&T? Posted by: admin in General Tech News Boy Genius is hearing that Canadian carrier Rogers is launching the BlackBerry Bold as early as June 25—a month or more ahead of the July/August release we’ve been hearing for AT&T in the U.S., where it has first dibs. We hope they’re either wrong or AT&T’s dropping it quicker than expected, since we hate it when the Canucks beat us at anything. BGR states nothing on RIM’s end is holding up the launch. We can’t figure it out—it’s not like there’s another huge phone launching in the next couple weeks or anything that AT&T would want to clear space for. [BGR] Via [Gizmodo] Share This Share This

AT&T First to Carry the BlackBerry Bold

    http://crackberry.com/t-first-carry-blackberry-bold

'So who's going to be the first carrier to offer the BlackBerry Bold!?' I can hear you all saying... Word is spreading that AT&T will be the first carrier with the Bold on offer. It has also been noted that AT&T also has exclusivity on international 3G usage. Sprint and Verizon's EV-DO network isn't as universal as AT&T's HSDPA. I'd still look for the other carriers to launch their own version of the Bold in the near future. Lets give this some time to sort itself out. Still early days. One thing is for certain...I'm jonesing for pricing details, aren't you? I'm not even going to hazard a guess, even though I'm sure I could be right on the money with this one. No pricing details have been confirmed on the unit as of yet... But with Kevin live at WES, I'm sure he's hunting down more information as I speak. Stay tuned for more coverage on the BlackBerry Bold! [ via EngadgetMobile & Gizmodo ]

AT&T Gets The BlackBerry Bold First

I don’t think that too many people that follow Research in Motion would be surprised if we told you that AT&T would be the first U.S. based wireless carrier to offer the BlackBerry Bold which was just officially announced earlier today. We can expect to see the Bold ship anywhere from within the next several weeks to, more probably, the next several months. For me, the book is still out on the BlackBerry Bold. Although I’ve heard that the keyboard may not be quite bad as that found on the BlackBerry 8800 series devices, those keys look awfully crammed together. I cannot wait to here some of the reviews on the BlackBerry Bold keyboard that will come out of WES this week. Just like we know that AT&T often gets new BlackBerrys first, Verizon usually gets them darn near last. Research in Motion staggers development of CDMA versions of new BlackBerry devices often by as much as a year after their GSM counterparts. We’ve already been asked the question “When will Verizon get the BlackBerry Bold?” at least a dozen times. All that I can say with a fair amount of certainty is that it will be a while. [Source]
