Nervous energy that consumes your waking hours. A feeling of dread that has you constantly looking over your shoulder. Unprompted thoughts about what would happen if you died suddenly and without warning. One week ago, prom night. In a car on the way home through a severe thunderstorm. The boy, usually cheerful and optimistic, suddenly makes an unnerving statement to the girl. "Something really bad is going to happen this week." Reluctance to go anywhere spreads throughout the school, overshadowed by stress over classes and anticipation over sports. Thursday, exhaustion and irritation is devoured by nerves.
