Edwards flatly rules out running with Obama Posted: 04:00 PM ET From CNN Ticker Producer Alexander Mooney An Obama-Edwards ticket 'wont' happen.' (CNN) - Seeing John Edwards and Barack Obama on the same stage earlier this week left political pundits buzzing: Could these two be an unbeatable presidential ticket? They appeared to have natural chemistry - something Edwards and then-Democratic presidential nominee John Kerry seemed to lack in 2004 - and the former North Carolina senator remains popular among a key demographic that has been reluctant to support Obama - working class white voters.

Edwards For AG, Not VP
http://www.openleft.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=5816I think Paul Rosenberg is one of the best writers around, and I respect his views tremendously. However, I never really agreed with his premise that Edwards should be VP, and now it looks like Edwards does not agree, either: "No," Edwards said

JOHN EDWARDS FOR...
http://downwithtyranny.blogspot.com/2008/05/john-edwards-for...Ardy Kassakhian Is the City Clerk of Glendale, just down the road a piece from where I live (walking distance). Michael Fish doesn't live that much further away, although in the other direction (West Hollywood). Like Ardy, he's a progressive activist.

Edwards For Attorney General
http://www.mydd.com/story/2008/5/16/15552/3589Ever since John Edwards dropped out of the race, there's been speculation about what his role would be in a Democratic administration, if any. VP? No way. My thinking for months has been that he'd never want to go there again but even if he did, he

Hillary wins big, but Edwards endorses Obama
http://www.unitetheparty.com/2008/05/hillary_wins_big_but_ed...Just 24 hours after Hillary Clinton won West Virginia by over 40 points, John Edwards endorsed Barack Obama. Only days before, Edwards had said he would likely stay neutral. His endorsement of Obama seemed by many a response to Hillary's win and not a direct play at Vice President on Obama's ticket, a slot on the dream team that increasingly includes Hillary's name. Edwards flatly denied wanting to be VP. During his endorsement speech, Edwards had strong praise for Hillary: "She is a woman who, in my judgment, is made of steel, and she's a leader in this country not because of her husband but because of what she has done." An interview with both John and Elizabeth Edwards in last month's People Magazine pointed to a divided household, with Elizabeth especially admiring Hillary's healthcare plan. John Edwards is not a super delegate, but he is well respected in the Democratic Party and helps make the case that the nomination is all but wrapped-up. The last primary is in less than 2 weeks.

Edwards for AG?
http://leftcurve.blogspot.com/2008/05/edwards-for-ag.htmlEdwards for AG? I've always been a fan of John Edwards. I like his style, his politics and his sense of outrage at injustice. If I were ever in need of an advocate, there's no one I'd rather have standing by my side. That's why I like this story. He very strongly says he doesn't want to run with Obama for VP, but seems to hold the door open for Attorney General. Imagine him coming in and cleaning house? Wow, there's nothing that would please me more. Posted by beckperson

Not Running Mates
http://mothercordes.blogspot.com/2008/05/not-running-mates.h...From CNN's Political Ticker: "But Edwards flatly said Friday, as he had before he endorsed a candidate, that he's not interested in making a second run for vice president. "No," Edwards said in no uncertain terms on NBC's the Today show when asked about the possibility. "Won't happen.…It's just not something I am interested in." I still have a big poli-crush on John Edwards. Guess I can still hold on to some of the dream: "As for another position in an Obama administration, specifically Attorney General, Edwards was decidedly more coy.'I don't really want to get involved in that speculation, he said. 'Right now we have to focus on getting Barack Obama elected to President of the United States, then we’ll worry about those things.' From John Ashcroft and Alberto Gonzales to John Edwards? From the ridiculous (and dangerous) to the sublime.
