Recent Venture Funding in the World of Fantasy Sports
http://www.rotonation.com/ ?p=806
Federated Media (FM) recently received $50 million in a C round of funding, after turning down a $100M buyout offer. In 2007, FM sold $22 million worth of ads across its network, up from $4 million in 2006. While it does have plenty of cash-on-hand right now, FM does not plan to purchase any of its blog publishers. While Federated Media is not exclusively a fantasy sports or sports ad network, they do represent a number of fantasy sports sites, including SBNation and its family of sites, ProTrade, and Bleacher Report. Yardbarker recently received $6M in funding.
