Diagnosing TMD April 23rd, 2008 by cosmeticdentistry TMD stands for Temporomandibular Joint Disorder. It’s the name for a misaligned jaw joint, which is a painful condition that many people have. And many people don’t know they have it. You may have met people who keep trying new pain medications or visiting new doctors to find relief from their chronic headaches. Severe chronic headaches of puzzling origin are the most common symptom of TMD. Their origin may be puzzling when searched for by a physician, but when a neuromuscular dentist searches, the origin is clearly dental.
