Fitna and freedom of speech

As everyone who reads my blog know, I’m a strong proponent of freedom of speech. The actions of the Dutch government in banning the 15 minute movie by parliamentarian Geert Wilders without ever having seen a frame of it has simply left me speechless. Wilders is an idiot and certainly someone for whom I have no respect but I do respect his right to freedom of speech. And, in point of fact, his film and the images it shows is far more muted regarding preachings in the Muslim world than many I’ve seen in documentaries produced by PBS in the U.S. and even by the BBC.
