“Tax” for Music Downloads? Filed under: Hollywood Economics — Michael Kim @ 1:51 pm Warner Music Group in an attempt to stem the downward spiral in its financial situation caused by the illegal downloading and sharing of music has signed up industry veteran Jim Griffin to create a company that would negotiate with ISPs to have them charge a fee, one proposal would be a $5 per month fee, to ISPs customers that would enable them to download all the music they want. The $5 fee would generate $20 billion annually which would be distributed to music labels and copyright holders, [see here].
