Pope Benedict XVI: ‘Christ is the centre of the world’
http://www.anglican-mainstream.net/ index.php/ 2008/ 04/ 18/ pope-benedict-xvi-christ...
Hear Pope Benedict XVI on the challenges of the different kinds of secularism and relativism around the globe - the phenomenon of ‘living as if God did not exist after the Sunday mass’ - and how to confront both. He describes the need for a profound heart conversion in words which echo Augustine; a greater realization of ‘the intrinsic relationship between the Gospel and the Natural Law’ and ‘the hamony of faith and reason’; and the worrying ‘eclipse of (an) eschatological sense in many of our traditiional Christian societies’. His comments on ‘quiet apostacy’ and the scandals which have beset the RC church are insightful as well.
