Rush Limbaugh May Not Be Serious When He Talks
Choose your favorite descriptor: satire, sarcasm, babbling or bullshit. Radio giant Rush Limbaugh's favorite thing to do, from what I can see, is not only to tickle his fanbase but to also bait his enemies. At this point he doesn't even have to try that hard anymore. Just come up with a topical news story, tie it to something unrelated, and act like you're dead serious.
I'm pretty sure he woke up Friday morning and said to himself, "Hey, I know! The volcanoes are blowin' up because of ... health care being passed in America! Yeah, that's it! Rush, you've done it again."
The very next day, sure enough his lines were being passed around the blogosphere campfire. The ensuing comments on these posts sure did take the man seriously, including someone named "trollspotter" whose moniker failed him this time.
Speaking of health care, it might be better on the blood pressure if the anti-Rush movement abstains from reading too much into his broadcasts every once in a while. Save the outrage for the times he does say something really out of line — and, yes, these times do happen.
