Global Crisis 2011: The Year of Living Dangerously?
It sounds like another global crisis is looming over our heads. It comes as no shock to know that we are living in a dangerous time. I am wondering; is the governmental fear machine working overtime again? Or are we truly headed for an epic global disaster?
Robert Walker from the Huffington Post wrote an all consuming article, outlining the treats that encompass our current state of well being. He raises many enlightening points in his article, “2011: The Year of Living Dangerously?”. After I read it, I pondered the accusations he had laid out and the next question I asked was, “What can we do about it?”
First, examine if it is true? It does not take a rocket scientist to see that the economic structures we have in place are not meant to be long-term. Were they ever meant to be long-term? I don’t think so.
He also states that the world’s demand on food and water is threatened again and we already know this by the shear fact of all the people that are currently starving in the world right now (this includes the U.S. as well). Instead of helping the people in need, ignoring this fact seems to be the trend the world has taken-accept for a few who have made it their mission to help those in need.
The natural disasters are also part of the problem we face. But at least we are not responsible-or are we? In the recent news, there have been many bird’s deaths. These birds are just falling from the sky and experts are saying that these things can happen-no need to worry. Yeah right! Over 5000 birds drop from the sky in different parts of the world and I am not supposed to worry? If that does not say we are headed for a global disaster, then what does?Continued on the next page
