Bin Laden's Death Sure to Spark New Right Wing Conspiracy Theories
Before we go celebrating TOO much over the long-overdue death of Osama bin Laden, let's be real for a moment. You know as well as you know your own middle name (you DO know your own middle name, don't you?) that the right wing nutbag machine is already at work crafting conspiracy theories about how the whole thing is fake, was staged for the media, and was crafted just to give Obama a rise in the polls.
First, let's look at this screen shot from CNN.
MURDER? Osama bin Laden's MURDER? Now, to be fair, this was written by a headline writer for the website. The columnist doesn't use the word murder in his piece.
Then there is that false picture of a dead bin Laden being foisted on the media this morning. If you want to see it, you can Google for it. But it has already been debunked as being a phony.
Then there's the fact that Osama was buried at sea. Perfectly good reason for that. No nation wanted him buried on their soil because his grave would become a shrine for his sympathizers. Because we are Americans and we respect the religious traditions of others (note to tea partiers — it's what our nation was founded on), we observed the Muslim tradition of burial within 24 hours. They dumped his stinking corpse into the ocean.
Also, I understand Donald Trump is already demanding to see the long-form death certificate. Hah! That's a joke. But did anyone think it significant that the announcement from the White House came in the middle of Trump's "Celebrity Dildo, I mean, Apprentice" program?
No, I'm afraid our right wing tea party nutbag friends will be satisfied with nothing less than Osama's body, put on display in Times Square, with THEIR scientists performing a DNA analysis (if they HAVE any scientists who BELIEVE in DNA) and THEN, they will congratulate the US Troops who, despite Obama's weak leadership and stumbling and bumbling happened to take out the world's leading terrorist 10 years after he committed the most horrendous act of mass murder in American history.
It was encouraging to see Dick Cheney growling from his cave today, congratulating Obama and his national security team on getting the job done that he and Bush abandoned so rapidly so they could gin up a war that was in the wrong place at the wrong time.Continued on the next page
