Four Earth Alien-Landscapes
Do you think you´ve traveled to unusual places? Here are four new destinations that you should definitely put on your "bucket list.". I call them alien places because of their out-of-this-world appearance, but they are amongst some of the most beautiful natural wonders of the world.
1- Eisriesenwelt:The largest ice-cave in the world. Eisriesenwelt is located in Austria about 40 km south from Salzburg, is the perfect mix between ice caves and rocks. Entrance tickets are about nine euros and the 2011 season beings on April 30th.
2- Vale da Lua: Located In Goiás State, Brazil, outside of Serra de Boa Vista National Park. It is a rock system, where water rapids have erased and eroded the rocks, creating some kind of lunar scene.
3-The China Stone Forest is located in southeast outskirts of Kunming, the capital of the Yunnan province. The China Stone Forest is a real natural stone forest, covering 400 square kilometers. Entry fee is about 18 euros.
4- The Socotra Islands, located in Yemen, are considered to be the bio-diversity jewel in the Arabian Sea. Their flora contains about 830 different plants, and 90 percent of their reptiles inhabit only that area. Socotra Islands are also famous because of their awesome trees, that grow in unusual shapes.
These are just a few of the most unusual places I have traveled to. Perhaps you have a few?
