Business, technology and business models are all about human interaction. Relationships and engagement. They are about offering something better, cheaper, slicker. Success in the business sphere echoes empty without success in creating a better society. And a better society is one where awareness, the ability to respond to publicity and raise issues and demand that things change, that something is done, that we do something, are as much a part of what we do as the tech we use and the online services we consume.
If we really want our time in this period in history to mean something more than the generations before us then we must be prepared, as individuals, to explore the boundaries of what we can do and what we can push. Of what we can change and what we can affect. Then, and only then do we stand a chance of ever changing age-old patterns of behaviour which lock half the world’s population into roles of traditional servitude and helping society take a step forward, away from the concepts, ideas and methods of the past which are responsible for so many of the social issues we struggle with today.
