Casey Anthony: I'm A Victim, Just Like Caylee - Page 3
It was a long afternoon, as over 100 different evidence pieces were described, discussed, numbered and brought into evidence. Many jurors were noted to be nodding off, while others were extremely attentive, taking notes.
A woman during this time fell down some stairs in one of the upper balconies, landing on a blogger covering the trial. She was escorted from the room.
After evidence was brought in, defense Attorney Baez cross-examined investigator Bloise regarding how he inspected Casey Anthony’s car. Bloise admitted that decomposition of humans can smell like a number of other animals rotting, so what he smelled might not have been a human corpse.
Again, Bloise states a phrase many others have stated during this trial, with regard to a decomposing human body: “You will never forget that smell.” Bloise went on to restate his belief that human decomposition had occurred in the trunk of Casey Anthony’s car.
Bloise stated that a test of the stain found in the white Pontiac’s trunk showed no signs of blood. All in all, Bloise inspects the car’s trunk a dozen times, more than any other car he has ever received into evidence, he says.
Someone in the court audience gasped when Bloise stated that he destroyed his inspection notes, after his report was reviewed and signed off six months later. Defense attorney Baez stated that his team had not been allowed to review the notes; however, Bloise countered that his hand-written notes were typed into the final report.
Bloise was dismissed, as well as the jury. When asked, the State’s prosecution team stated they believed they would wrap up their side of the testimony around Friday, June 17th.
Court will resume at 9:00 EST Saturday.
