The Technorati Blog Directory

You can always search the Technorati Blog Directory to find blogs about the subjects you're interested in. Since we classify blogs based on the tags they use most often, you can also browse by topic by clicking on interesting tags. Just stalking? Click a member face to discover blogs about the unexpected!

Add your blog to the Directory

It's not just about finding things though—it's about being found. You can list your owm blog(s) in the Technorati Blog Directory in several ways.

  • Already a Technorati Member?

    As a member you gain several benefits, such as the ability to include a photo and description with your blog.

    Step 1: Claim your blog! Depending on your blogging platform, there may be several ways to claim your blog to establish that you are its owner. We'll take you through the process step by step.

    Step 2: Each blog you claim will be listed on the Your Blogs page. To make sure the world can see it on Technorati, click the "Configure Blog" button and check to make sure that "Include this blog in Technorati's Blog Finder" is checked.

  • Not a Member yet?

    Step 1: Become a Technorati Member! It takes less than a minute.

    If you're not a Technorati member, don't worry! You can play too. Just put some code on your site so we know what tags you want to associate with your blog. The code looks like this:

    <a href="http://technorati.com/blogs/[tagname]" rel="tag directory">[tagname]</a>

    There are two important parts to this code. First, make sure the URL it links to is a directory. Of course, we'd love it if you linked to us, but you can link to any directory you like. These would work just fine, too:

    • <a href="http://dmoz.org/Arts/Movies/" rel="tag directory">Movies</a>
    • <a href="http://dir.yahoo.com/Recreation/Travel/" rel="tag directory">Travel</a>

    Second, make sure that rel="tag directory" is in the link. That's what tells us that this is a tag you want applied to your blog.

    All we ask is that the tag you use actually has something to do with your blog. You can list up to 20! Once the code is there, ping us and we'll get you listed ASAP.

Once you've tagged your blog with either of the methods above, your blog should be listed in the Blog Directory in a few minutes (up to an hour during periods of intense activity). Thank you for participating!

URL Search Results in the Blog Directory

A Technorati URL search result looks something like this:

Search Box   Enter any web address URL to search for information on the blog.

Breadcrumb   Path for the page you are currently in. You can navigate to other pages within that path by clicking on the path link.

Blog Info   The name of the blog URL you searched for, if we have it. If not, the URL will be displayed. Displays information about the blog such as:

  • Technorati rank. Click this icon or hyperlink to see who links to this blog, and what they say.
  • Click this icon to add this blog to your Favorites.
  • URL: Hyperlink to the blog
  • Last updated time
  • Number of members who have favorited the blog. Click this hyperlink to see who has favorited the blog
  • Search box: Keyword search in the blog

Member Info   Information about the blogger. A description of the blog, written by the blog author. May include their photo and name (links to their profile), and blog tags (which link to Blog Directory categories)

Results Excerpt   List of the five most recent posts from the blog. Each result begins with a post title and excerpt from the blog post. Click it to visit the original post.
