The Munsters Are Coming Home Again
If you're at least in your early twenties, then chances are you spent a good deal of your childhood passing time by watching sitcoms from your parents' era on those summer days when you had nothing better to do. Shows like Andy Griffith, Gilligan's Island or maybe The Munsters. Well one of those shows is about to make a grand return; can you guess which one?
That's right, Andy Griffith is back, and this time he's not taking any crap from no town drunks! He plays a disgruntled sheriff resurrected in the year 2097 and is partnered up with a faulty android named Barney 5.0.
Okay, I lied about all that. It's actually The Munsters. You know you're equally excited, though.
Reports are that Pushing Daisies (that awesome show you probably didn't watch) creator, Bryan Fuller, will be spearheading the revival of the classic television show for the modern era.
There are also rumors that Guillermo Del Toro may be interested in having a hand in the show. Yeah, Guillermo Del Toro and The Munsters; your mind has just been blown. The show will be coming out for NBC and though only a pilot has been ordered thus far, it seems pretty likely that with talent like Fuller and Del Toro behind it, it'll get a decent chance on network television.
So who do you want to see play some of the iconic roles? My vote for Herman Munster goes to Brad Garrett, the big lovable lug from Everybody Loves Raymond. Don't tell me you never looked at that guy and thought he looked and sounded like Frankenstein with a healthy complexion and speech therapy.
