Satire - The Bachelor's Jake Pavelka Narrows List To Three...For His 2009 Tax Returns
Jake Pavelka knew this was going to be a difficult decision, “Once January came around I knew that I would have some difficult choices to make,” said 'The Bachelor' from his home in Denton,Texas. “It has always been very important to me to file early, this year I am very nervous, I just want to make the right choice.”
For the last ten years, Jake has been doing his returns with local Denton account Fillburt and Sons. Unfortunately, Mr. Fillburt passed away last fall and his sons never joined the firm leaving it to close last December.
“Doc Fillburt had been doing my family returns for the last ten years, I trusted him,” said Jake, “But when one window closes another door opens ...or something like that.”
This February, Jake and his family embarked on a journey of a lifetime to find a new tax preparer. “We got together and opened up the yellow pages and got the names of the fifteen best tax preparers in Denton,” said Jake from his tree house. Then, the Pavelka’s invited the fifteen tax prepares to stay at their home to get to know them better. ‘So many nice people to choose from, they changed my life for the better, just good honest folks,” said the Bachelor from his submarine in Denton.
After five intense weeks of interviews, tears, hair pulling, underwear parties, hot air balloons, champagne baths, chickens and donkeys, Jake narrowed the list down to the final three finalists. “It was tough to do, really hard,” said The Bachelor in a reflective mood overlooking his 3000 acre cranberry field.
The list of the final three came as a surprise to viewers on Thursday night and the choice was not without controversy.Continued on the next page
