PREVIOUSLY, ON: Jane's Eyebrows and Mrs. White Return to Breaking Bad
Jesse Pinkman has crossed the line on a number of occasions on Breaking Bad. From hosing his parents on the sale of his aunt‘s house, to making a recovering-addict a current-addict, and just recently, hatching a plan to deal meth to people in his Narcotics Anonymous meetings.
All that, I can deal with. But I liked Jane, dammit, and I am not ready for Jesse to move on. I am still getting over the loss of Jane’s wit…and eyebrows.
In the 11th episode of the season, entitled “Abiquiu,” we watch Jesse kind of fall for Andrea, a recovering addict that he targeted to sell his super-meth to. Being the charmer and nice guy Jesse is, he actually falls for the single mom, the reason for his continued interest probably starts with the opening scenes of the episode.
It is a flashback to Jane and Jesse in the Georgia O’Keeffe Museum located in Abiquiu. They discuss her art and the idea of painting the same thing multiple times and seeing “something new every time.”
The scene closes with Jane saying, “That door was her home and she loved it. That’s about making that feeling last,” as we see Jane put out her cigarette, her lipstick tattooing the end. This is the same end with lipstick we saw Jesse stare at longingly last week. He has kept it, trying to make his feelings for Jane last.
So all that, and now we get Andrea? You’re killing me, Jesse. Oh, also, Andrea’s little brother Tomas killed Combo. I didn't know Jane even HAD a brother! Learning about Combo’s killer sets Jesse in motion. He actually went and bought a tenth off Tomas. Something is brewing inside Jesse’s head and we will see how much his “feelings” for Andrea will affect his next step. I suspect they won’t.
Also in this episode, Walt and Gus have dinner. It was a cute idea that was still very tense, though I did laugh at Gus saying, “You can help me cook” because Walt already does that for Gus and gets paid quite well.Continued on the next page
