DVD Review – Meat Loaf: Guilty Pleasure - Page 2
In fact, after watching “Guilty Pleasure” I’d venture to say that there may be no harder working entertainer in music today. Backed by some of the most dedicated and talented musicians I’ve ever seen, Meat gives his all. And even though he is likely fully aware of his vocal decline, he still leaves everything he has on the stage. ‘Guilty Pleasure’ is an enjoyable romp through the Meat Loaf catalog.
New Meat Loaf fans might be better served starting from the beginning with the original “Bat Out Of Hell”, one of the best-selling albums of ALL time with over 43 million copies sold.
Having seen this concert, I still lament the fact that I never saw the classic Meat in his prime. Which is not to say that this DVD isn’t up to standards. On the contrary, it only reinforces the fact that seeing Meat Loaf is more than just a concert. It’s an experience.
