Halo 4 Coming But Not too Soon
Microsoft’s Xbox beacon title, the massively successful Halo game franchise returns, headed by the eponymous armored 7-foot cyborg Master Chief. The unsatisfying end to Halo 3, in which the great hero was left stranded in deep space, will be resolved in the Halo 4, even as a threat more grave than the maniacal Covenant comes to the fore.
The developers appear to have ratcheted-up the threat level – impressive; considering that Master Chief has encountered alien Forerunners who engineer objects on a planetary-scale – and introduced entirely new upgrades to weaponry, keeping the basic form of old favorites, and constructed multiplayer levels that haven’t been seen in previous incarnations of the Halo series. The second video released on Halo 4 since the E3 2011 debut trailer, has the developers talking about what to expect. As befitting Master Chief himself, Halo 4 promises to be bigger, faster, better and rob of you of more nights of sleep than ever before. The official summary release from the contracted developer, 343 Industries, doesn’t tell the casual fan (is there such a thing when it comes to Halo!?) much other than you have about 7 months to wait until you can have at it on the Xbox 360 console:
Set in the aftermath of Halo 3, Master Chief returns to confront his own destiny and face an ancient evil that threatens the fate of the entire universe. Halo 4 marks the start of a new trilogy that begins with its release in 2012.
