Ferris Bueller's Newest Day Off Superbowl Ad Revealed
Just last week, the Interwebs went into viral mode, as a 10-second YouTube video was released, showing what appeared to be the mother of all sequels.
The video short showed Matthew Broderick semi-reprising his role as Ferris Bueller, whipping open the curtains of his bedroom, and deciding the day was just too nice to go to work. Cue the Bom-Bom Chicka-Chicka music and the ever-so-familiar Ooooh Yeah voiceover...
I have to admit, even I was caught up in the excitement, and wrote an article including the extremely short ad, sharing my starry-eyed hopes for a full-length feature film - yet another action-packed wild adventure by a now-middle-aged man.
After all, I could relate.
Auto news site Jalopnik decided to continue digging into the origin of the ad, slated for full release on Superbowl Sunday, and discovered from a source that the hinted-at release is actually a fairly lengthy commercial for Honda - perhaps broken up into segments as the game progresses. They even got their hands on the link on YouTube for the full-length commercial, shown below for your now bubble-bursted, heart-broken eyes...
Okay, it's not a movie, but there are a lot of little adventures (and nods to the original) packed into this over two minute beauty.
