A Tale of Two Trailers: The Other Guys & Scott Pilgrim vs. The World - Page 2
In the grand scheme of things, it doesn't really mean much, but I still had to wonder why. Is the mainstream that programmed to reward apparent mediocrity and dismiss the inventive? Perhaps that's rhetorical.
I like all types of films, but it is always great to see a flick that tries to do things a little differently - to step outside the norm even. Will this be successful? These outside-the-box films do not always succeed, but you have to respect the attempt.
I am not trying to speak ill of my co-audience members, I was just struck by the wildly different reactions the two trailers elicited. To be sure, I will see them both and hopefully enjoy them both. Time will tell which is better or if either of them will succeed.
