Zachary Quinto Comes Out
Sorry ladies but Zachary Quinto is officially…out of your league. The Heroes and Star Trek star has officially come out.
In an interview with New York Magazine the actor finally revealed his true sexuality. Best known for his starring role in the reboot of Star Trek, suspicion of his sexual orientation have always loomed over him. Quinto who had played several gay characters and released a video for the “It Gets Better” campaign to support LGBT bullying victims, remained closeted until now. The actor even refused the rumor when questioned in an interview earlier this year by New York Times.
Quinto was quoted in response to bullying, “And again, as a gay man I look at that and say there’s a hopelessness that surrounds it, but as a human being I look at it and say Why? Where’s this disparity coming from, and why can’t we as a culture and society dig deeper to examine that? We’re terrified of facing ourselves.”
Quinto is set to appear in a number of roles in the coming year. He will be playing an openly gay haunted house owner in the upcoming FX series American Horror Story. Quinto is set to release two films; Marginal Call which will premiere on October 21 and we will reprise his role as Spock in the 2012 sequel of Star Trek.
Zachary Quinto joins other openly gay celebrities: Ellen DeGeneres, Ricky Martin, Neil Patrick Harris and Wanda Sykes.
