Star Trek 45th Anniversary: A Conversation with Nana Visitor - Page 6
Nana talks about the future of her career.
“I love the element of surprise in the way I approach acting, allowing the unexpected to happen. I look forward to that in my life and my career. Meanwhile, I just do the work.”
Nana is grateful for having been an important part of Star Trek and gives her words of gratefulness.
“I was completely surprised by this job and it changed my life on every level. One thing that Star Trek and being Kira did for me was that it made me live and contemplate situations that I hadn’t thought of, moral questions I may never have in my own life. To know myself on that level, it was a gift Star Trek gave me. People ask is it strange that you have fans that follow you and show up at every convention that you’re at, no its not and it’s my life. It’s not my life and then Star Trek. The people that I have relationships within the show and the ones who watch the show have altered my life and it’s all knit together now. I couldn’t imagine separating it out now. I’m eternally grateful for it.”
There a few character actresses in the industry today whose eyes can convey the feeling and the emotion that they portray in addition to possessing the talent of song and dance, Nana Visitor is certainly that actress that is worth keeping your eye on. She is a beautiful woman on the inside and out, and one of hell of an actress. I hope to see her in a series again real soon.
