The BizCATS REVIEW: Three Steps to Your First Website - Page 2
STEP 2: Test your Content
- Ask everyone and anyone what they think. Do they “get it”? Is your message clear? Would they buy from you based on reading what you’ve written? Would they “join” your site or interact with your content? Until you get feedback that you have strong and motivating content keep editing and fine tuning. Remember that the only reader that matters is the customer.
STEP 3: Go Build That Web Site
- If you have no technical skills at all, then by all means start talking to web designers. Give them what you’ve done and ask them to apply their creative and technical genius
- If you have some technical or design skills, at least try building your own site first using free tools like YOLA (www.yola.com) or IGLOO COMMUNITIES (www.igloocommunities.com). Worst case this process will help you better visualize what you want before you get outside help; best case you might find that you don’t really need to spend all that money.
Anyone can make bad content look nice and that’s the big trap; but when you first take great content and then make that look great, well you’ve really got something.
