Social Media - 13 Sites I Use and Why - Page 3
This is on www.TheMarketingSpotlgiht.com. OnlyWire lets you bookmark content.
So, I use it to bookmark things, and people who read my blog can use it to bookmark things I write.
This is a bookmarking site, but I don't really use it for bookmarking.
All my bookmarks on Diigo are private. That's because I use this for research. It has an annotation function that is just dynamite. It let's me make all kinds of notes on a web page, then I can print the page with all my notes.
Very cool for research.
BIG NOTE for Diigo - your annotations do not have to be public. Aside from being respectful toward any site you're researching, having all those annotations on your screen is truly annoying.
If you're using it for research like I do, then keep your annotations private. Whenever you make an annotation public, be sure it adds value to the site.
This is the first bookmarking service I ever used.
I use more than one (Digg and Technorati, too) because bookmarking someone's material in more than one place helps them be more popular. I use Delicious primarily because it updates the bookmarks in my browser as well as storing them on the Delicious site.
I Digg it!
Always wanted to "say" that.
Like the other bookmarking services, Digg is a useful place to do research. They're like Google Scholar for the whole internet. You will absolutely be amazed at the information you can find through bookmarking sites. Both because it's useful and because it's bizarre.
This is THE place to watch and research trends.
Think of this as the garage for all your video. How neat and tidy your garage is - that's up to you.
Of course, the more neat you keep it, the more likely other people will be able to find things. Any business that does something for someone else should be using YouTube. Why?
Lee LeFever is the best example I know. He does short, clear videos that show people how to use social media. If you're a plumber, then show people how to fix a leaky faucet.
A video often needs to be edited before you put it into the garage. MotionBox is a good place to do your editing. I find it easy, and quick to use with no limitations on file size or how often I use it.Continued on the next page
