Out with Mommy
Out with Mommy began as a nationally syndicated bi-weekly column that has appeared in more than 40 print and online outlets. The column evolved from LezTalk, a first-person exploration of lesbian life in Los Angeles, which began running nationally in 2005. When columnist Pearson Brown gave birth to her son Stephen in August 2007, her focus shifted from lesbian society to motherhood, and so Out with Baby was born. Later, as Stephen became a toddler, the column grew up to become Out with Mommy, joined by a companion blog by the same name. The column Out with Mommy, now featured exclusively on SheWired.com, delves into the joys, challenges and unique aspects of being a gay parent. In a more free-flowing form, the blog also shares tales and tidbits about life as a gay mom, along with news, features, opinion and musings with regular (at least weekly) updates. Both the column and blog also offer reviews and gift guides featuring products made by companies that support our families.
